How can I find the codes to unlock my Nokia 6500 classic for free? Its locked to O2.?

My own screen is broken, so this was given to me by my uncle. I wanted to switch to O2 but i have filled out numerous forms on-line called them twice and spoken to someone through IM on thier site and still recieved nothing in three months, so I have had no phone in all that time. I just want a phone in my possession to work for the time being until I can get some sim cards sent through the post. Please help
