How can I FINALLY start my diet and exercise routine?

I've been trying to start a weight loss routine with diet and excercise, but I keep ruining it within a few days. I usually start eating right and excercising daily and then one day i'll eat something unhealthy or not excercise for 2 days and fall off track again. How can I stick to eating right, even when i'm hungry and i'm at a restaurant where everyone is ordering double bacon cheese burgers and ice cream sundaes? How can I run on my treadmill at least 30 minutes a day? I decided that this is my year to lose the 30 pounds i gained in college, how can i get motivated enough to see it thorugh?

I'm INSANELY jealous of my brother who was almost 300 lbs and starting exercising, along with a strict diet and lost 70 pounds since September! He's now working on muscles and forming a six pack! He goes to the gym everyday and looks amazing, everyone is so proud of him!
