How can I figure out what bra size I really am?

How can I figure out what my correct bra size is without going to a store and embarassing myself by asking a associate that works there. I can not seem to get the cup size right. After having my son I found I fit into a 38D but the fit around was a little snug and the cup size a little lose fitting. After trying numerous bras on I give up.......
