I feel so bad...... it seems all my budgie ever gets to do is sleep and eat. On some days he spends almost half of his day fluffed up and resting.
I open his door to allow him to have free-flight time (my bird doesn't have clipped wings) but he rarely gets out. I want to encourage him to explore. I try to set aside some time to spend with him, however I am a busy person that has a hard time sitting in one place for little less than two minutes.
I've supplied him with some toys. They're a mixture of store-bought and homemade toys. He may nibble on them occasionally, but most of the time he doesn't seem to interested. He seems to be more of a climber; he likes to hop from perch to perch and also stretch his wings.
So does anyone have some good tips to encourage him to be more curious and active? Is there ways I can help him face his fears and venture out of his cage? He isn't hand-trained, sadly, and I've been a bit too nervous to try training him.
Please help!
