So im debating on weather the U.S should have dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Im negative (so im against it) I just want to know what i can say when they say that they dropped the bomb in order to save lives of U.S soldiers and for giving Japan an honorable reason to surrender?

One suggestion was to invite a group of Japanese to a demonstration and say "If you don't surrender this will happen to you".

You can elevate the lives of the Japanese civilians; the innocent women, children, and elderly who died in Nagasaki and Hiroshima as being more important than any other innocent civilians throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands who died anytime from 1937-1945.

This is what most people do when they take your position. The sympathy for those civilians who died in Japan, and the ignorance of the actual numbers (millions, not hundreds of thousands) of the civilians who died at the hands of the Japanese will work in your favor.

As you can see by an answer already given here, most people do not think or look any further into the war and the lives of the innocent civilians taken by the Japanese. This sympathy/guilt plea is highly effective!

well that bomb resulted in the death of many japanes civilians!
civilians are NOT combatants
