How can i convince my parents to give me a cellphone?

i do sports and i go to my friends house and do lots of stuff, but i don't have a cellphone. i'm 14 and my mom says i will get one when i learn how to drive. i told them that i'm always busy and wat if something happens, i always get lost when i go on vacation, but they don't understand. wat can i say?
