How can I convice my parents to getting a Jeep.?

I am trying to get a customized lifted 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. The problem is they want to wait a little longer and get a Japanese/European SUV for me.

I am currently a senior in high school who is going to be in the Army and college at the same time. Also I will start working at YMCA for the rest of my high school career.

How can I convince my parents of getting my dream car (and believe me I put a lot of considering, over 5 years worth)?
They're excuse for not buying me one is the safety and how expensive it is to repair them. Reasonable, but I have a dying passion for that Jeep.
 
Try saving some of your own money and show them that you have some funds set up for expenses and maintenance and that you will be the one handling the vehicle by taking financial responsibility.
