How can i connect my mobile phone to the internet via my router using wifi?

I have a router set up and it works fine with my 2 computers, xbox 360, and wii. doesnt work with my DS because of the WPAA/WEp encryption thing. Anyway, is it possible to connect to the internet using wifi on my phone? im going to buy a new phone and will be getting one with wifi if it will save me money for browsing, because i dont want a contract. my cousin has an itouch and it connects to his router fine and free of charge. so can this be done with a mobile phone that supports wifi?
