Rent a shampooer with a fabric wand. Pretreat the stains with Oxyclean diluted in water. Mix Oxyclean and shampoo in the vat with very hot water and clean the furniture well. Slather the liquid on and suck it off quickly. Go back with clean water and rinse. Won't just look great, but will smell great!
The fabric might be a chenille. I do mine all the time. I bought a great looking once-white sofa and love seat for $20.00, which cost new about $4,500. The owner was a chain smoker and it was nasty looking. I brought it home and cleaned it up and had several offers to buy it from friends. I did put the foam cushions in the tub and cleaned them in hot water, then dried it outside for a few days.
