I purchased an established 30 gallon tank. In it are 3 female platties, 2 speckled cory catfish, 1 red fin shark, and 2 gold gourami. I want the tank to look more natural than it currently does. At the moment there is a mix of light blue and dark blue gravel, and blue marbles. There are several fake plants, and an orangish/pinkish asian themed bubbler ( a mountain with a fake stream running down it.) I would like to have darker gravel, some real plants, and rock caves, even perhaps some driftwood.
How can I change my gravel without disturbing the bacteria build up? Should I just add a few bags of dark(maybe black?) gravel to diffuse the ugly blue stuff?
Can anyone direct me to a great site that I can view images of tank the same size as mine to give me some ideas?
