I'll be getting my license within a month. When I'm eligible to drive I'm going to get a (part time) job, and finally hang out with friends (all my "good" friends live 2+ hour walking distance, I'm not walking that far) and you know do things solo. How can I break it to my parents, without getting my @$$ yelled at? Every year we go on a family vacation, by that time I'll be long experienced to drive, and I already know most of the roads, how can I convince my parents to do things alone (Like go to the beach alone) and just have fun on my own? How can I convince my parents I won't be doing anything illegal or inappropriate (such as drugs and sex)? Thanks.
I have their trust, but their trust is limited. I never did anything bad, and they know I'll do good. Thing is they are the kind of parents who are always suspicious etc. If I tell them I'm going to hang out with a friend they expect me to be home within an hour or two, not within 3+ hours (which is another reason why I don't hang out with friends) And their insecurity/suspicious is probably raised because when I was 4 my sister ran away (she was 15 at that time)
