How can I block spam text messages on my phone? (I'm on AT&T)?

I did one of those IQ test things and know I'm constantly getting spam on my phone. The worst part is... I'm getting charged for it! This is starting to cost me a fortune, how can I block the messages
 
you block the number or you ask the comp. to change your plan?

Call AT&T - a friend signed me up for some crap one time as a joke and it was 19.99 per month - AT&T will take it off!
