Im thinking of getting married but I dont know the amount I need to be under to still qualify for finacial aid. I only make 150 a week multiplied by 54 weeks in a year is 8,000 a year. now my boyfriend makes 311. after taxes multiplied by 54 =16,794 a year it seems like a lot together we would make 24,794. I dont have any idea if its better to get married or if it would hurt us to get married and i wouldnt qualify anymore for financial aid since he makes more. is it better for him to be independent. I dont know whats best for us to both keep getting financial aid. Plus he's supposed to be getting a raise should he reject it and drop part time. for instance I had heard that independently I cant make more then 12,000 a year to be fully eligible. and 24,000 married is that true. 2nd question. I have my own apartment but my parents claim me. is it better to file as independent.
how can i become fully eligible for financial aid?
