How can i become an Advertisement photographer?

I am sixteen and am at college taking higher courses in IT, I have had an interest in photography for years and I feel I am at an intermediate level; I can use AdobePhotoshopCS3 pretty well, so am comfortable with editing. But I recently have been looking in magazines and was thinking about the way photographs are taken for the front cover or for advertisements on billboards or bus stops. How can I train or get into this type of business? Any help would be most appreciated.
 
You'll need to master film photography for one. It is still the professionals choice for best color and sharpness.

Colleges still offer photography classes.
