How can I adjust the idle throttle on a 2003 Ford Taurus?

Unfortunately, the idle throttle has fluctuated over the years and now its too high and I'd like to lower it. However, I don't want to bring it to the shop because I'm a little tight on money right now. Any suggestions?

-Check engine light IS NOT on
-The parking brake light comes on and wont go off periodically while I am driving.
