How can cheerleading NOT be considered a sport?

I'm talking about the hard-core, competitive, daily 4 hours of intense practice, cheerleading . the one that involves extreme tumbling skills, exquisitely coordinated dances, exceptional stunting where amazing flexibility is a must and is beyond compare.

i just dont get it. how is it not a sport ? is it because it doesnt include a ball ? then swimming, wrestling, or nascar isnt a sport either. is it because cheerleaders root on for another sport ? so whattt . besides we have our own "games" and our own "opponents" too. but they're called competitions and other cheereleading teams.

its sad how some people only see one side of cheerleading. the ones who stay at the sidelines a scream "go team go!" well i guess i see why you would consider that not a sport. but people really need to understand that theres more to cheerleading than that and that theres another side of it.

cheerleading should be considered a sport. cheerleaders are athletes and performers. they have the skill of gymnasts and dancers combined. im a cheerleader myself and you dont know how offensive it is to call the activity cheerleaders are most passionate about, spend hours on practices, travel to the other side of the country just to compete in, not a sport.

in a cheerleading routine we have to stunt, tumble, dance, jump and make it look so easy. not to mention we have to make facial expressions, stay tight with our motions, add spunk and atitude to every single movement we make and maintain a smile, when we're really just about to pass out on the mat.

so really .. if you think its not explain your reasons. but most of you just say its not because you got turned down by a cheerleader in highschool or you werent skilled enough and got cut at tryouts.
