Hi, I am 16, and have a CD opened, and work about 30hrs per week. I am definitely a go-getter and I plan on buying a car next year around this time. I would like to know how I can start building a good credit history while still being a minor so that my car insurance isn't as skyhigh as it would be without any credit history.

umm, sorry but, yes, 16 yr olds can get insurance in their own name, or else 16 yr olds wouldn't be allowed to purchase vehicles in their own name.
