How bicycles impacted the world?

I need a couple more ways on how bikes impacted the world. So far, I have social (bikes were cheap, so everyone could afford one), technological (early bikes had no pedals and made out of wood, now they have chains, gears, rubber tires, etc). And environmental (don't pollute the earth). I need maybe 2 more ways it impacted the world.

I feel lame asking for homework help on yahoo answers lol but I've been researching for hours ! (: thanks.
