I have a resin sculpture that has several bits broken off it/old. I'd like to disassemble the whole thing (about 6 parts total) and fix all the broken bits by hand, possibly re-casting them depending on the damage.
I am fairly confident that the parts are bonded with epoxy. Is there a good way of softening or dissolving the bonds without damaging the resin itself? I am not concerned about the current paint, I plan on repainting the whole thing anyway
Some areas are tight, so along with dissolving is there a method of "sawing" into the glue with some form of abrasive line?
Thank you!
