How bad is the North Melbourne financial situation?

Obviously they are not doing so well right now, is a relocation inevitable? They have played games at Gold Coast and are looking to play a home game at Subi next season to boost money. Is it more likely that they will or that they won't merge with another club? If they have to merge or relocate how many years down the track do you think that is? The refusal to go to the GC boosted memberships a bit but is it enough? Or are they still in with a chance of sticking around if the next couple years bring profits?
I know that's a number of questions not necessary to answer them all I'm just trying to get in a nutshell where they stand.

because there supporters aren't going to there games so there is no profit being made
also not many people have a membership so there is no profit there either pretty much #21 WCE said summed it up
