...passenger side of a truck.? The hit was not severe. It dented the tail gate just a bit and the bumber was bent. The driver is now claiming to have sever injury but I didn't even hit his side of the truck and it was not that bad of a bump. He is claiming to be severely injured. He is about 280 pound man. My truck suffered most of the damages and neither I nor my 3 year old daughter were injured. How injured could this man be when I didn't even hit him directly on his side of the truck?

the type of truck and car would have helped but if he was not wearing his seat belt then yes he could have whiplash, head trauma from being bumped around. if you hit him hard enough to bend the bumper and damage the tail gate then you hit him harder than you are saying. A 280 lb man is way out of shape so well injury easily., Let your insurance worry about it..
