how bad are the 01' 02' Honda accord transmission problems really? should i buy...?

I currently drive an rx8 but the payments are killing me. i have always liked the accord and i could get really low payments on an 01, 02. The one im considering is a 2002 v6 automatic coupe with 96K miles on it for 7K. but recently Ive seen transmission failure complaints all over the web for this model and heard out of warranty is expensive. But ive also read of owners who havent had any problems with this model so im stuck. im not sure if buying this car would be smart or not. its practically the only "older" body style i think i could live with if i sold my 8. Anyone have some advice?
 
First sell your RX8 and then look for the next car. Buying a car is easy and can be done in a week, selling is not so easy. accord is ok if you keep the tranny fluid flushed every 30k.
 
i have an 2000-01 one of the 2 honda accord coupe's. i got 157,000 miles, the transmission is just off from 1st to 2nd gear, it only kicks if you step on it, ive known other ppl with accords that have the same problem, hopefully my trans wont drop while im on a highway

like J said, i did flush my trans fluid, and if you get your oil changed regularly it should be ok
