anymore...? I have a 13 (almost 14) month old little boy. He is a good boy... He only does things that are expected from a newly 1 year old but I am having a hard time figuring out what is appropriate as far as dicipline goes for him... Up to this point, when he does something he isn't supposed to do I've been removing him from the situation and saying a firm 'No", "HOT", "Yuck!", etc... It worked for a while, but now he is starting to defy me and try to see just how much he can get away with...
Example. He has been getting into the TV cabinet and pushing buttons on the cable box and surround sound boxes... He does this at least once a day and every day I take him away and say no... Well the past few days he has been just laughing at me when I say no and going right back and doing it again! I keep moving him away and saying 'NO' and trying to distract him with something else but he like finds it funny to keep going back and trying it again...
I don't believe in spanking and certainly not a 13 month old baby and I feel he's too young to understand timeouts....
What is the appropriate thing to do in these situations when he just continues to do what he knows he's not supposed to/allowed to?! I am wearing out the word 'No' really quickly and he's starting to ignore me when I say it now...
