How are these the standard forms of the equation of these lines.?

first one has points (2,5) and (5,7) and the standard form is -2x + 3y = 11.

second one has points (-2,-1) and (2,-6) and the standard form is 5x + 4y = -14.

Can you explain why this is? Also why are these both linear?
