How and where to write my PHP code?

Hi,

I am learning PHP by my own and got stuck on how to execute my code. I've installed Apache server, PHP and MYSQL. But I do not how and where to write the php code and how to get it executed. There is no 'read-me/help' file that came with installation.

Please help me on how to write and execute php programs.
