So, I've been working an "internship" with a start-up web company for the past year, but now, rather than working under their terms, I decided I wanted to set my own rates but first wanted to check to see what others think. I think these are fair and deserving of my time/experience, taking into account also that I'm still a student.
General Graphic Design work — $25/hour
Flash/Web work — $35/hour
Video/3D/Motion Graphics work — $85/hour
Does this seem reasonable? I know it's a bit lower than standard, but where I want to be economically right now, those would satisfy it. I can always raise my price later, unless anyone feels these are drastically too low, in which case I would raise them. Start high and then negotiate, right?
