HotSyncing problesm

Hi, I just got a palm pilot from my school for taking a class and I am stuck you could say.

I have the Tungsten T2 model, brand new so there shouldnt be any issues there.

I installed the Palm Desktop.

I plugged my hotsyncer/recharger (sorry i do not know the tech.. term) into the outlet in my computer, and yes it is the correct outlet.

Everytime i push the botton so it will hotsynch though It says there a connection problem

I am connecting using cradle/cable and whoa It is simply not working and i was wondering if anyone could lend me any advice.

Thanks, Mark

When I was new, too!!

Is there a blue/red "hotsync logo" on the RIGHT SIDE of your bottom toolbar on the PC? If not, open the Palm Desktop and configure it to "start with Windows" and GET THAT ICON down there.

Clicking on the "icon" at bottom right brings up a menu - make sure you've got the right format checked (USB or serial) - the default is USB, I believe. That should sort you out.

You might also go into prefs within Palm Desktop and make sure they're set to right "ports" and what-have you. Hope this helps.

yea there is the little blue and red spiraly arrows and stuff the error message say

the connection between your handheld and the deskto could not be established, please check your setup and try again

so i dunno i have the plug in the only place it will fit in my computer, i mean there are 2 of the holes to put the plus in but i tried both and it dosent work still

i dunno growl

When you right click on the hotsync icon, do you see "local USB" checked? If not, you need to check that option. Also, try switching the cable to the other USB prot and reboot. Sometimes one USB port won't be recognized and the other one will.
