hi - i've trawled through every help file and forum i can find but can't seem to remedy this:

tungsten won't hotsync with a mac running os x 10.4.8.

have downloaded the latest version of palm desktop. have tried soft and hard reset. hotsync is enabled.

it may be that i used to run it on a pc. i have reinstalled a new version of palm desktop and wiped all old user data. same on the pda and still nothing.

the pda says: Connection between handheld and the desktop could not be established.

have checked on both usb ports.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks.

I don't have a Mac, so I can't be of much help with this issue. However, a while back somebody mentioned that Pam devices do not sync if they are plugged into a Mac's keyboard USB port. Make sure you plug the handheld directly into the CPU's USB port.

j4nyc,

I had the same problem with a T3 and when I had sync problems I would soft reset T3 while it was connected into the USB port. That worked but it was cumbersome.

The ultimate solution for me was to go to Parallels for MAC. This is a great program that allows you to run another OS like WinXP on your MAC without a partition nor boot up switches.

I've not had any sync issues since I am in the Windows environment for Palm Desktop, and now I can run my favorite Windows and MAC programs on one machine.
