So I've found out that the problem with my connecting to my PC has been the updated version of the Desktop software (thanks, again, Moose Man!). The problem I now have is that when I start up my computer, Hotsync does not start up, even though the setting is to be in the startup folder.
Everything is working when I manually start up Hotsync. Do I need to add Hotsync to my Startup folder manually?
