Hotsync Initiation

hello,
i was wondering if there is a way to initiate a hotsync from the computer.
(my palm screen is busted and i reassigned the hotsync button to something else, so there is no way for me to do it from my palm pilot... blah!)
anyways, if someone could help me out, i'd really appreciate it,

Hot sync has to be initiated by the device - especially if it's a USB connection - or the cable as the USB port is not "triggered" until the connection is made by the handheld.

If the device were a Treo - then you could hit the home button followed by an "H" and then a center press of the d-pad - this would launch Hot Sync.

But if Graffiti/Screen not visible at all - then you'd have to use a cable that has a hot sync initiate button on it.......which is another reason to buy a cradle etc for some of the devices that don't come with one. So I'd suspect that your device is a Zire and not a T series?
