Hot Rodders, I've got a 49' Chevy truck and want to swap motors, rear end, etc.

from an 1991 Silverado I know motor, transmission, and rear end should bolt up fine. My question is about the drive shaft. Has anyone done a similar swap?
We've toyed with several "muscle cars" but this is our first old truck.
