hey just wanted some advice really, wanted to get a GOOD horror out tonight for me and a mate to watch, but they seem to be so rare to find these days.. Got out Diary of the dead and it was OK not scary and not really capturing either.

My ideal scary film is a film like Thirteen Ghosts although it was kinda rubbish it really has that X factor scariness.
Ohh the Decent is another great horror film!.
I hate films like Saw as i gore dosnt appeal to me.

Can anyone recomend a descent horror film??

thanks

28 weeks later is pretty good. I can't remember there being a huge amount of gore - made me jump a few times. DepenRAB if you like zombie style films tho... very very fast zombies. You don't really need to see the first film to enjoy this one but it helps.

I agree, I try to think of any horror/thriller films that 'scared' me as such, and I can't really think of any. LoaRAB scared me when I was younger but as I'm a little bit older, they don't seem to scare me as much anymore.

One or two that actually frightened me, and would probably frighten me if I watched it again are:
-Blair Witch Project
-White Noise
-White Noise: The Light

thanks for ur help.. the strangers sounded and looked amazing.. but i checked blockbuster and its not listed :(

28 weeks later is a film we watch over and over lol, i like it alot but im looking for something a bit more supernatural.. if u get wot i mean..

blair witch was an amazing film i like how scary that was and even tho it gets slated alot i really loved it.

I heard that Darkness falls was good but just checked out the trailor it looked good until the ghost thing came into shot. it looked too CGI

is white nosie anything like pulse? i didnt like that..

white noise is rubbish

the strangers isn't even out in the cinemas until september!

try and get the exorcist - still terrifying after all these years

dog soldiers (by guy who directed the descent) is quite good too and v scary at the start in the wooRAB

In your opinion. :)

I think its brilliant. Gave me a few scares in the cinema (one particular part in this film I jumped the loudest - everyone looked at me!) - I still do.

I love horror movies. I didn't watch them for years because I thought they would really scare me, but actually I am yet to see one that I find truly frightening. Even classics like the Exorcist fail to scare me.

Hmm i guess you could go for the excorcism of emily rose if you want an up to date horror film.. or stick with the original if you're after an older one.

Never been a fan of White Noise (sorry).. just seemed to take ages to get going then nothing much happened. Haven't seen the second one.

I really enjoyed Event Horizon which is spooky but you're really heading into the gore factor especially if you get the Directors cut (which is the best :) )

The reason you didn't find The Strangers in Blockbusters is because it's just had a cinema release, not dvd.

Instead of The Strangers, get the French film Ils/Them out on dvd, now that's creepy, and a lot like The Strangers.

Someone mentioned Session 9, definitely go for that.

Where did you hear it was GOOD... it's complete and utter rubbish, miss it!

With Thirteen Ghosts, did you mean the original or the remake with Matthew Lillard? if you meant the remake, try some other horror movies from the company Dark Castle, like House on Haunted Hill or Ghost Ship.
