I'm new here, but I am sure you get a lot of threads like this, so terribly sorry.
Here's my story. I'm 18, female, 5'7, 180 pounds, and I have asthma, PCOS and migraines - and I am allergic to penicillin. I have a family history of type II diabetes, high blood pressure, mental illness, irritable bowel syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Ever since I can remember I have been spraining my right ankle because it gives out on me all of the time, and now there is quite a lot of scar tissue there. In 2004 I developed a ganglion cyst on my right wrist, and although the cyst left in 2006, I have always since had an aching pain in the wrist. In october of 2008 I developed transient joint pain and mild swelling in my both of my wrists, my thumbs, and the first two rows of knuckles on all of my fingers. By january I also had pain in both hips, my right knee and both ankles. at the thing is the pain, swelling and redness jump around in all of the joints I mentioned. some days I have relatively little pain and swelling, others I have pain and swelling in just a few joints, and yet other I have pain in all of the above mentioned joints. If the joint is re and swollen, typically the joints throbs and burns inside, and feels like there is jello molded around it and that it is really hard to move the joint through the viscus jello. If there is no swelling, then the pain is a dull, annoying, but bearable ache.
So my sent me for blood work, and X Rays of my ankles and wrists. She checked my iron, vitamin d and b12, sed rates, c-reactive protein, rheumatoid factor, and ANA - all of which were normal. The X-Rays were also normal, but she re3ffered me to a rheumatologist anyways. The rheumatologist checked all of the above things again, which all came back normal, plus she checked for HLA-B27, which came back positive. She also did a bone density scan, which looked normal, and an MRI of my SI joints, which also looked normal. She then diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, told me to loose weight and do stretches, because she couldn't help me. I went back to my GP who disagreed, and now we are waiting on another rheumatologist. We disagree because I do not have widespread pain, I do not have muscle pain, and because I DO have swelling.
I am taking diclofenac, 50mg, 3 times daily which helps some.
I was just wondering if anyone had/has or knows someone who does, the same symptoms as me, if you received a diagnosis, found a treatment that helps, etc.?
I am just so frustrated of not knowing what this is. I am in so much pain!
Thanks for your help, and thanks for reading all of this if you made it through,
