Horrible Dizzy Spells

I have been getting the most awful, scary dizzy spells lately.
I get so dizzy, room spining that I feel like I'm going to fall down and can't see straight for a few seconds. They only last for a few seconds to maybe a minute but I've never had anything like this before.
I had two yesterday, one at work just sitting in my chair and last night I was just standing talking to a friend and this dizziness comes over me.
I am so scared and don't know what to do!
Does anyone have unexplained dizziness like this?

You should go to the emergency room. I use to have this early in the morning.:dizzy: It turned out that my Blood Pressure was dangerously high. The Dr. said that I could have had a stroke.:(

I have experienced this, although it happened much more frequently throughout the day. I went to the doctor, at the time i also had a pretty bad cold, he summed it up to excess fluid in my ears and told me to take decongestants, so after being on those for a few months (i had gone to the doctor every few weeks in between, he just said continue what i am doing) I went in a little annoyed with my situation because it was affecting my work and ability to concentrate. So he sent me to an ear, nose and throat doctor, who found nothing wrong with my ears. But took the time to check something else. My jaw. I grind my teeth in my sleep and clench my jaw throughout the day without even noticing. The jaw joint has been damaged and due to the inflammation it affects my sense of balance due to being located right by my inner ear. I was sent to a orthodontist who immediately had a HUGE list of symptoms I was experiencing. They made me a mouth guard that i wear when i sleep which stops me from grinding, and takes away the stress from the joint. Its called temporomandibular joint disorder. Might be something to look into. Hopefully before it drives you insane, I was undiagnosed for close to 6 months if not more, running from doctor to doctor, I would have never thought it all had to due with my stiff jaw. Good luck!
