Horrible allergies in Arizona

Okay, you always hear that Arizona is the place to live to get away from allergies. I lived in Michigan, southern California and now in Tucson for the last two years. I NEVER had allergy issues until I moved out here to Tucson! I probably have sneezed more here in Tucson in one month than in my whole entire life living elsewhere!

When I check the allergy reports, it says that the allergins are low/medium here. What on earth could I be reacting to? I can't stand this anymore, I sneeze constantly and my nose runs constantly! Clariton or Benedryl don't do a thing.

Are there shots or something that I can get? I have never had to deal with this problem. What is frustrating is that I don't see other people at work sneezing nearly as much as me. I'm fine when others have allergy issues, it's like I am reacting to something that most people don't have issues with. Is October supposed to be a bad allergy month in Tucson?
 
It may just be the dryness of the place...the other places you've lived are fairly humid. You could always see an allergist to find out.

But yes, you could have allergies in AZ - i have several frienRAB who live there who have problems with them.
 
Your RagweeRAB and ChenopoRAB are still at a moderate level. That could certainly be causing you some problems.

There is a good pollen count reporting website if you do an internet search. It can tell you exactly what is high in your specific area.

I'm in Utah. My allergies got tons worse when I moved out "west" from having grown up in the midwest and east. I only had a cat allergy prior to moving to Utah after college. Now, I'm in my second go-round of immunotherapy in the last 10 years. I'm highly allergic to most environmental allergens. I'm being treated for 28 of the worst with regular shots. Unfortunately, I now have bad allergies wherever I go in the country. They are just to different things.

I agree on the dry air too. It has made a difference for me after having lived in high humidity areas prior to moving to the "desert".
 
I know someone who moved to New Mexico from the East coast and their allergies are 10 times worse because of all the dust in the air. Definitely see an allergist, that will pinpoint what you are allergic to.
