Let's say I have an LCD tv without an optical audio output. I also have a sound system with an optical audio input. Lastly, I have an Xbox 360.
Now, if I plug the Xbox 360 into the TV through HDMI, but I hook up the TV to the sound system using the optical audio, I would hear the audio from my 360 through the system right? Any sound that my TV is emitting, regardless of what device, should be heard in the system, right?
I ask because this seemed logical, but I read a conversation online where someone said it wasn't how this work. It doesn't seem right to me, so I just wanna make sure before I make the wrong decision.
