Hongi compatible with Cichlid fish tank?

I was wondering if I could get a Hongi, or two if they do better with two, in my fish tank. Would they be compatible in a 29 gallon tank with acei, kenyi, and possibly a red zebra. I origanally only wanted the zebra for color, but if I could only get the Hongi without the Zebra I would sacrifice it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
thats a very similar set up to me. i had a hongi in with my salvini, clown loach, and female kenyi in a 29 gal tank. he lasted about 3 weeks; i went away and apparently the kenyi got to him while i was gone. kenyi has now been donated to my local fish store
