Looking for advice from people in Houston with a long and trusted relationship with a local mechanic. I'm southwest. I hate when there's a major problem and I have to have my car towed to the shop. If I add in the expense of the tow and balance that against the "obviously over priced estimate" plus the price that it would cost for the initial inspection and further towing to a new location, it only makes sense to just stand there and let them rob me. Screw that whole senario. Please advise me to the local mechanics that you trust.

I paid my dues in college raised 2 kids and still don't feel the need to screw people. A fair price for a job well done is not a moral that should be lost on you feeling the need for pity. But thanks for your usless reply.
