...States? As a lifelong liberal and blue state resident, I'm thinking strong States. That way the cons in DC would stop annoying the hell out of me and the Feds would stop trying to regulate morality.
I guess the cons in red states think the same way about DC liberals, so perhaps we'd get to leave each other alone.
Your thoughts?
California would have legal marijuana by now if not for the cons in the federal government, for example.
Drinking ages would be lower if not for the cons in the federal government.
And so on.
There'd be no risk of abstinence-only sex ed in blue states if not for the cons in the federal government.
Not having to deal with local cons that much, I'm starting to think I'd be better off not having to deal with DC cons.
And we've got civil rights now, no need for a strong fed anymore.
A valid concern. But the South would become such a junkyard that people would flee in droves.
Then they'd have even less federal power (as per representation) and we'd be able to show conservatism for the failure it is.
Not to mention saving the Bible Belt people of the fate they all scream they want is not worth having bible belt senators doing laws that affect us libs.
