I am a stay at home mom to three young kids. My husband works outside the home full time. When he puts in a 12-14 hour day, aren't I putting in a 12-14 hour day? He thinks that just because he clocked out he shouldn't have to come home and help me because "he's had a long day." So have I! He has even said that my day is more hectic and nerve wracking than his. Just because I can't "clock out" my day never ends?????? What do you think?

I was a stay at home mom and wish i still were, going to work and dealing with idiots is much worse than staying at home with the kids so i some what agree with your hubby.

i think that this is a conflict that every stay at home mom and a working husband have and i don't think it will ever be solved! i don't see why he would want to take the kids off your hands for atleast an hour or so atleast then you could have time to your self to do what you want to do like take a bath or something. and he could spend time hanging out playing with the kids. i don't know why men feel like that with out women they would be completely lost!!!

I think you are asking the same question women have asked for about 2 million years. No one has come up with an answer yet. Good luck.

It depends on a lot of things. What does he do for a living? If h's working 12-14 hour days, does he work 5 days a week? When I get home, I need some time to unwind before I can even think about doing anything related to chores/kids/etc. Give him an hour to just relax and vent. Then, he should let you have some time to yourself. Just because you work at home and don't clock in/out doesn't mean you don't need time to unwind. If he refuses to help you out once he gets home and unwinds, he's taking advantage of you.
