The valve cover, exhaust and carb off. Removed the small bolt on the one side of the cylinder, - something is keeping one side, side of the removed screw and timing gear, from coming off. Don't see a need to remove timing gear. Seems like it should wiggle off but doesn't. tried lowering the piston. What are we missing?
