yes that like a dinosaur old. And that's a LOT of miles.
Many old bikes were made before they started to add alcohol in modern gasolines. So the gas tank constantly suffers from corrosion (and so the carb also suffers from corrosion and debris).
Get another bike.

Considering a Shadow that is only two years old and low mileage is only about 5 grand? If it were my money I would look for a 750 Shadow in the 2003 to 2005 range. Many are low miles and very dependable.

That is 2173 miles per year and perfectly acceptable for a non-commuter bike.

well first of all ITS A HONDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will last for many years to come and many more miles to go before that things is headed to the scrap yard. its alot of mile for it but if it runs good and keeps maintained then you will have no problem running it.
