honda shadow vt600 not running properly?

ok i just bought this bike it ran when i got it when i got it home i chopped off the baffles it runs but for short distantces it will go for a good 10 blocks then start running on just one cylinder until i raise the rpm then it runs fine would this be jetting? or fuel pump i have noticed that the fuel pump kinda dont sound right it looks like it not pumping fuel its weird plz help anyone i really want to ride this summer
