Honda Rebels Question?

Ok, im thinking about getting me a nice beginner bike that i can have for a few years, and i like the honda rebel, I like the style and size. I'm a little guy about 150 pounds, I have no need to raise hell or drive crazy, and i live in the country so top speed ain't needed, just to get to point A to point B cheaply. But to the question i was going to ask. I have found 2 locally used honda rebels, one is a 01 model, they asking $1,250 for it. and the other is and 85 model and they asking $900.00 for that one, they both look in good shape and they say that they run great. im just wondering if i bought the 85 model, if i would end up having to put money into it in the long run, or if it would be cheaper to just buy the one for 1,250.00. since i have Always heard you get what you pay for. I have heard they reliable bike's. and also is it hard to find rebuild kits and other stuff. in case i had to fix something. i'm leaning toward the 85 model, i like the old look for some reason.

I would recommend the '01 model.
Motorcycle shops have an unwritten rule that they will not take in any bike for repairs, if it's over 10 years old.

Look up the specs of a rebel on bikez.com and see what the specs are for each bike. Ive never really looked into rebels, i dont know what changes with them over the years. But id go with the newer one because i think rbeels are typically used for motorcycle training schools. They dont really update much in them, but newer is always better imo.
