I have a 2003 Honda Rebel 250. I had been riding it a few miles each day, then one day I had ridden it about 4 miles to the library, when I got back on it after a few hours, I could start it but once it was put into 1st gear, it would quit very quickly.
That is basically the problem, the engine starts quite robustly, and after a warm up, once I put it into 1st gear (or 2nd), the engine dies. Yes I make sure the kickstand is up, clutch and break are pulled in. I've tried starting it with the choke in various positions.
I checked the clutch cable to make sure it is fully engaging the clutch. Anyone have any ideas?
