honda prelude tranny question?

im looking at buying a 92 prelude and it grinds going into 3rd gear at over 3,000 rpm. this has been happening for a few years when the different tranny was put in, it was grinding into third. so this isnt a new problem but i dont know if i should buy the car? i love the car but the tranny issue kinda scares me. but if i shift at 3,000 rpm or less its fine and no other gears grind
 
Third and fourth gear synchro going bad. It's only going to get worse with time, and will probably start grinding at a lower rpm as it gets progressively worn out.
Only correct fix is to replace it.
