Honda owners do you think you're driving an American car?

I'm puzzled by Honda owners who insist to me that their car is American. They seem to think that because it is built in a plant located in America, that it's a domestic car.
I think that a Ford built in Mexico is more American than a Honda built in Ohio. Why? Because when you buy a Ford, the money benefits an American company. When you buy a Honda, the money goes to Japan.
As for me personally, I know my Mustang was built in Michigan, so it's a true American car, no two ways about it. (And still running fine on the original engine/transmission at 155,000 miles, thanks!)
Any thoughts or opinions on this?
Wow, you've all drunk the kool-aid to some degree.. the one who thinks that American cars are poor quality is downright funny! Well, so far, I don't see an answer worth 10 points.

Your thought process has so many flaws, that I don't know where to begin.

Let me guess, you're also one of those people who refuses to believe that a Mustang came with a 4 cylinder turbo, because no "muscle car" would ever have that?

I also love that your great argument is that your car was built in Michigan.

Really?

Funny. I could have sworn the Mustang was based heavily on the Ford Falcon. Which was made in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Mexico, and the USA.

Oh, look, I'm right: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Falcon_(North_American)

Must be great to be proud of your "American Heritage" when you drive a car that started out as a foreign car.

I guess there's the truth, and then there's "your truth"....
