my honda recently started bogging out everytime i dropped speed, i would do 80mph then slow to 30mph after 5 mins it would just die, leave it for a couple of minutes or tipping it on the side stand would resolve this until one day it would turn over you could hear starter motor then the relay started playing up so i checked for a faulty connection between the fusebox to relay, relay to starter and battery, i unplugged the relay plugged it bck in and the shutoff cable which go's to the sidestand melted and took most the cables with it, i replaced and i got the bike to run for a bit, next morning the starter wouldnt move and relay produces a "click" like its meant to but the starter doesnt move. i used to be able to start the bike by shorting to poles on the relay so current is going directly from the battery to the starter bypassing the relay but there is no current coming from the starter motor side? fuses are fine and the negative on the engine is fine does this mean my starter motor is gone? i hope not because its really hard to get to as the bolts are worn all around it. thank you in advance for your replies.
