Honda Hornet Leaking Gearbox?

I have had my Honda 600 Hornet 98 for about 6 months now and over the past week or so i have noticed some leaking coming from the gearbox.
Is this normal?
Or is the gasket worn out perhaps?
WIll this result in any long term damage to my bike/gears?
It is leaking from the gasket/seal at the bottom of the gearbox as far as i can see.
Is this a serious problem?
Or will this endanger myself when riding?
 
i would take it to get checked out anyway, people one here dont know exacally whats wrong by telling them, they will have to see for thereself.
