I have a '89 1500 goldwing that periodicly the tachometer will go up allot higher than it should be. It will double or more in R.P.M. from where it should be. I've changed batteries, but that didn't seem to help.
Has the alt. or reg been changed recently??? If not watch them... test them... Tach surges (elec tach) can go crazy from what the eletronic geniuses call NOISE. On Harleys I've had tachs go nuts with a compufire reg and when switched out for a stock HD it went away.
